Sunshine Week celebrated
It’s the 20th anniversary of Sunshine Week, which is a weeklong recognition of the importance of open government and access to public records. Journalists, public and private sectors, civic groups and educators work each year to recognize the value of ensuring that government processes and works are open for all to see rather than shrouded in secrecy.
The Washington Coalition for Open Government held its annual Sunshine Breakfast and Awards Program on Friday, March 14, in advance of Sunshine Week, celebrating people who made special efforts in 2024 to keep the light shining on government agencies throughout this state.
