Reserve your seat: Sunshine Breakfast is March 14, 2025

The Washington Coalition for Open Government will host its annual Sunshine Breakfast and Awards event at a new site: the Embassy Suites in Bellevue. It is scheduled for 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Attorney General Nick Brown will be the keynote speaker at the event.

We will again recognize outstanding contributions to open government with our annual awards. Information about nominations will also be released soon. Read about the awards and previous years’ recipients:

  • Toby Nixon Award (formerly the Madison Award) for outstanding, longtime service in promoting open government

  • James Andersen Award for extraordinary effort to advance the work of WashCOG

  • Kenneth F. Bunting Award recognizing journalists and media outlets for putting Washington’s access laws to work in ways that inform and educate the public.

Tickets will cost $50 each.
